I bought Amazon Protection with it as there were so many reviews about it breaking after a year or two. I've only had it about 2 months but I hooked it up to my subfloor via the vent and so far it has reduced the humidity from over 90% to 60-70%. I'm going to put some fans in there to see if I can improve the dry air circulation, but that's already a huge improvement and a much lower price than the $3,000-$5,000 professional company was willing to charge , to solve the problem. I bought this unit mainly because it allows you to add an air duct and a remote control. I have a main basement of about 600 square feet with utility rooms at each end. With this device I can place it in one of the utility rooms and pipe it into the main room. So we can enjoy the basement without the dehumidifier running in it.
