The device was well packaged and arrived in good condition. Seems to be solidly built. Draws in a lot of air and removes a decent amount. The warranty seems better than most handhelds, although I'll pay the shipping if something happens after a year, which can be expensive. I've used 4 60 pint dehumidifiers in the last 7 years, I usually keep 2 in my basement at a time. I've had many different brands and they all seem like garbage, although my basement isn't very humid, and as far as units that didn't have pumps (pump units seem to die much quicker for unknown reasons, although they don't). there were failures of the pumps themselves) I empty the buckets on average every 2-3 days during the wettest months. So I decided to try something stronger. I tried this while sitting on our wet bar just to make sure it worked and everything was fine, but *fan* is noisy (condenser isn't as annoying as other dehumidifiers, but fan is noisy and only with one Speed). My plan is to mount it on the other side of the finished basement and in/out duct (it will be easy to get out with the existing 6" socket, not sure why the metal grille is forcing the air down 45 degrees , rather than straight out ) channeling - IMO, this is less effective than pulling those metal mesh pieces straight out) with an optional remote to detect humidity levels in the desired room. I would however like to be able to automatically stop the device when my home theater projector is turned on, but the manual says you can't just turn off the power to the 110 while the device is working. I called their support team and got an answer from a very helpful technical resource. way to do what I wanted. If this works and then resets, the panel will keep error code E4 even after power cycling until you remove it from the panel. So it seems that the only way to safely automate start/stop is to set the motorized device to press the start/stop button, which seems suboptimal. Or just disable automation and press a button on a remote control (sold separately).
