Available or not? Who knows?

Lost day when Sewell canceled my order as "out of stock" when it still says "2 in stock". I have no idea how well the product works but now I know Sewell doesn't work.

Pros
  • Handy Item
Cons
  • Vulgarity

IDE Hard Drive Adapter

If you have a hard drive to test or verify content, this is the easiest way. Using a USB connection and connecting an external power adapter (included) will run most discs and you can check the content etc. via My Computer - External Devices. Works every time. except, of course, if the drive being tested is bad - which you usually want to find out first.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Doesn't work on multiple systems

Got one of these today and so far it's not working at all. I tried three (working) IDE drives and one laptop drive. The best I had was that the adapter showed up in Device Manager but the drive never showed up in My Computer. I think that's Vista's work of course, but I tried it on my WinXP PC and got the same result. Apparently I received a defective device, but I will not ask for an exchange.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Working speed

NIC lifeline

The 30500 allowed our IT department to store data and repair hard drives, saving us $1,200 in the first week alone. If we couldn't use the adapter, we would have to use a forensic data recovery service. We now use it as the default data transfer method for hard drive recovery and data transfer to new computers. We bought an extra connector that also allows us to interact with laptop hard drives.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Almost OK
