Battery Life? Transparency?

Why are they asking about battery life? This is not a battery. It's also quite opaque, so I don't know why they're asking about transparency. Maybe they're talking about rough edges. I find them quite transparent. However, they do power the device I bought it for, so 4 stars!

SHORTLY appears as a legitimate replacement for the original cable

So the cable powers the camera but for some reason does NOT charge the battery connected to the camera. You will need an external separate charger for this. Also note that it is not as long as the original cable for my XA-10 camera.

Yes it works! Now how!

My original died so I bought this one, the cables are a little shorter than the original but it charges my camcorder (Canon Vixia HFM41) as I type. Or was...... 24 hours later... Let me revise my comment, it powers the camcorder but doesn't charge the battery, at least it hasn't been charged in the last 24 hours. The on/off (chg) light is flashing rapidly, indicating that the charger is defective according to my instructions. At least it powers the camcorder so I can stream the video to my…
