Works well with the Firewalla Gold Console Port

I bought this for my Firewalla Gold device with built in RJ45 console port. Firewalla suggests using a baud rate of 151200 bps, but I was only able to get a reliable connection with this cable at a baud rate of 9600 bps. As this is my only USB to RJ45 console cable I'm not sure if it's the cable or the Firewalla Gold but I suspect it could be a combination of the two hence the 4 star rating. Overall, however, 9600 bps is still enough to access an external terminal considering I rarely need toโ€ฆ

It works with everything I've connected so far.

. I work in a data center and cisco provides rj45-db9 connectors for all devices. It is great. if your laptop is from 1992. Unfortunately, their freebie means anyone can buy a second device to plug into their more modern Windows 10 laptops like mine. Since I didn't like the idea, I bought this cable. So far it has worked on every device I've installed it on. Cisco n9k, hp5900 and occasional devices such as surveillance devices. The only downside, to be honest, is the price. Mine are almost $15โ€ฆ

Well made and works well but the rubber/plastic "boot " around the end of the USB is too big.

Not the cheapest option but I went with a well known brand that has always been quality. Well made, made of high quality materials. I plugged it in and my Windows 10 laptop immediately recognized it as "FT232R USB UART" on COM7. Works great with the Cisco 2651XM router. The downside is that the protective sleeve around the USB port is so wide that I can't plug anything into the USB port next to it on the laptop. I was able to plug it into a USB hub on my desk with the USB ports rotated 90โ€ฆ
