It works with everything I've connected so far.

. I work in a data center and cisco provides rj45-db9 connectors for all devices. It is great. if your laptop is from 1992. Unfortunately, their freebie means anyone can buy a second device to plug into their more modern Windows 10 laptops like mine. Since I didn't like the idea, I bought this cable. So far it has worked on every device I've installed it on. Cisco n9k, hp5900 and occasional devices such as surveillance devices. The only downside, to be honest, is the price. Mine are almost $15 plus shipping, and a standard USB to db9 adapter is around $9. But overall it was a great cable so it's hard to complain about the price.
