Ideal Solution - Cat 6 Cable

The cable is ideal for easier access to randomly located LAN ports: in my case, the laptop LAN no longer runs directly along the chassis a few centimeters into my work area. The cable is thick and all components feel solid and well built. My only complaint is that my connector's shielding is so thick and stiff that the latch literally can't be pushed in: first I had to wedge a flathead screwdriver to loosen it, then use a knife to split the latch cover into the gap in the middle so that I was…

Pros
  • Computer Accessories and Peripherals
Cons
  • Difficult to remember, but

I'm finishing up a Sega Genesis FPGA MiSTer Case and needed to make a working Ethernet port where the EXT port is on the back of the Genesis. This extension cable allowed me to use hot glue, glue it in place, and easily attach it to the DE-10 Nano board that was on the other side of the Genesis case. Ethernet comes in at full speed, no problem. Love it for this custom project and would recommend for any purpose.

Robust hardware. Only information from personal experience.

Exactly as pictured - just had a unique situation I wanted to share in case it helps the next person in line. While the cable was adequate for my needs, it required a little "manual setup" for my particular situation. I work from home, have a personal bridge router, and a company-supplied VPN device, so I move this all the time Network cable For my PC from a device I wanted an adapter because my connection to the cisco port brings a latch for the RJ-45 on the bottom which is not very convenient

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
