Just what I needed in computer accessories and peripherals

I wanted to fit 2.5" SATA drives into a radial hardware card on a Supermicro server. I was able to use this cable to go from an expander port on the backplane to a SATA enclosure and create a raid-0 for the OS partition. The Intel software raid was causing problems (crashes).

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

Build quality issues

They looked fine but one of the SFF-8643 connectors did not snap onto the HBA board (both connectors). A good cable is attached to both plugs. The meaning of the connector to which 4 hard drives are connected does not need to be described in detail.

Pros
  • Many fit
Cons
  • Too long to wait

3 ordered and 1 was bad

Of course I just started building after the return window closed. I ordered 3 sets in total. 1 was installed and worked fine for several months before a new build was started with two other cables and one of them failed. Wanted plenty of time to track it down to the cable. It happens I think, but it's a shame I can't get it back anymore.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • No insurance

Works great with Mini-SAS cables

I just took a chance - you've read enough reviews and it's like a dice roll. I replaced cables (ASIN: B01GPD5KFK) bought in 2017 with these (ASIN: B01BTEYLEQ). You have greatly increased productivity! Using Diskspd.exe (test files 100 GB) I increased the speed from 26 MB/s to 54 MB/s and the file transfer was noticeably faster without any measurement. I'm using Intel VROC on a motherboard (Z11PA-D8) and two Seagate Barracuda mirror drives (ST8000DM0004).

Pros
  • Computers and Accessories
Cons
  • So far so good

I bought 2 of these cables about 6 months ago. Worked as expected until recently. The P4 cable on one of them suddenly stopped working and started making mistakes. I am contacting the seller to get a replacement. Will be updated later if/when replaced or not. Update 3/5/21: I contacted the seller and he responded fairly quickly and sent me a new one which still works as expected. Upgrade to 5 stars.

Pros
  • Cables and accessories
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Thin, flexible, but somewhat fragile

Over the past year I have purchased many cables from CableCreation. I was very happy with the cables I used with my old SAS2 card/expander so it made more sense to buy more when I was upgrading to a SAS3 card (9260-8i to 9361-8i). As mentioned, the SFF-8643 connector doesn't seem to fit very well in the expander. This caused the cables to unexpectedly detach from me, resulting in ASC error spamming, which initially misled me into thinking it was a hardware or cable failure. Once I snap them in,
