ethernet not working on mac

As mentioned the ethernet port is not working on mac which I really need. I use a separate dongle to connect to the Ethernet network. Video and USB connections are solid and my computer seems to be getting enough power. I'm not sure if I should return this due to a network issue.

Incorrect performance in USB hubs

Only 4K@30Hz (and unadvertised 4K@60Hz) when using Lenovo ThinkPad X1 tablet and HDMI output. The specs are wrong and there are cheaper options if 4k@30hz suits you.

Works reasonably well with computer accessories and peripherals

I use this in place of the Surface Dock when I need to charge my laptop batteries. Most of the time it works very well with no noticeable difference from the dock. However, sometimes the ethernet connection stops working and I end up on Wi-Fi. To get ethernet back to the hub, I have to disconnect and reconnect the USB to the laptop. Small trouble.

works great with 4k@60hz!

This is the first hub that actually gets me 60Hz. Once you get 60Hz, 30Hz is definitely unbearable. so it works! The ethernet port is also very handy as as a developer I need a stable/fast internet and the WiFi just doesn't work. This center solves all my problems.

Great quality, fit and finish!

It was exactly what I was looking for - SD card reader, Ethernet and Type-C PD. Everything I need and nothing more (HDMI, DP, DVI, etc.) at a reasonable price. The quality of the materials and the "feel" is a big plus! And it comes with a case that can hold something like a pen or pen. I understand that some people will need things I didn't have, but I wish it didn't make it harder to find something like this. Thank you Cable Creations!

Great key but the LEDs are too bright!

This dongle is exactly what I was looking for to expand the port selection on my Macbook Pro M1. What sets this adapter apart is that it supports 4K at 60Hz while most others only support 30Hz. The only issue I have is that the gigabit ethernet port has two VERY bright nasty blinking lights when in use. I went as far as coloring them in with a black pen and they're still pretty bright. Blinking lights next to your computer are pretty distracting.

HDMI works great no ethernet

I bought this USB-C hub because it can run my 3840 x 1600 monitor at 60Hz unlike some older hubs that can only reach 30 Hz. This part works great, as does the power supply, although it does get quite hot to the touch. Unfortunately, my 2018 15" MacBook Pro never recognized an ethernet port. The port lit up when I plugged in the cable but never showed up in the operating system. I had another USB to ethernet adapter laying around and plugging into one the USB 3.0 ports on this hub was enough for

Surface Book 2 - works very well - great buy

I recently bought this hub to replace the Surface Dock 1. (I don't recommend buying the Surface Dock). The reason I bought this hub is that the Surface Dock doesn't provide enough power to my Surface Book 2 to keep it charged while in use. With this hub I can do the following.1. Use the original 90W charger that came with your Surface Book, not the 60W charger on the Surface Dock. This allows me to keep my laptop charged while I'm using it.2. Lets me run at 2K at 60Hz.
