Pretty cables

Pretty cables. I haven't wired them up yet as this is a long term project I'm using them on but if their electrical performance is as good as they look assembled then I'll be happy.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Do not order if you are in the US.

I don't know which country uses these plugs, but they are not the plugs you see on coax cables in the US. They are much bigger. No connection to TV. If you then request a refund, 25% of the amount you paid will be withheld, so you won't get a full refund.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Money box price

My second coil is good for antennas

This weekend I took my ham radio and HF antenna up into the mountains, threw my wire antenna over a tree and routed that coax back to my radio. I do this about every weekend. It is ideal for drinking or stationary use in a cabin. And certainly better than the RG-58 I use.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Not trendy

My second coil of radio antennas

This weekend I took my QRP ham and shortwave antenna up into the mountains, threw the throwable antenna over a tree and ran that coax cable back to my radio. I do this about every weekend. It is ideal for drinking or stationary use in a cabin. And certainly better than the RG-58 I use.

Pros
  • (1) UHF PL-259 connector
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Bad connections

I didn't like the connections on this product. The threaded portion of the plug was too short to properly mate with a standard outlet. I was surprised by this as the 50ft version I bought a few weeks earlier had connections that worked perfectly. Due to lack of time I couldn't send the goods back, so I cut off the defective connectors and soldered them myself. Big waste of time and money for me. I would not buy the 25ft version again.

Pros
  • Great as a jumper for an antenna tuner, switch, meter or main antenna
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Heat shrink instead of overmolded connectors as shown

I have nine of these cables with overmolded connectors. Due to the design of the plugs, before tightening the ferrule, you must push and twist the cable until it snaps into the socket to ensure good contact. The last 25 foot cable I ordered from CablesOnLine came with a heat shrink connector as shown in this review. I couldn't make good contact with this version of the connector. The connector was too short to make firm contact even with the connector ring fully installed. unusable.

Pros
  • Strain relief design for years of use
Cons
  • Out of fashion
