Not exactly tortoiseshell, they are dark brown to black with a few areas of light brown. I like the shape and they are very comfortable. Took them to work, everyone thought they were black or very dark brown. Not appreciated and"tortoiseshell". I still keep them.

I like these glasses for their flattering shape and also for their tortoise shell colour. I also like that I can buy them at a high 5.0 power. However, I am dismayed to see that the next power goes straight to "6". I hope the vendor considers 5.5 because I know I will need them soon. I love these glasses so much I have bought many pairs to give around the house.

Unfortunately I had reading problems last year and doubled the prescription of my reading glasses. Revain has a lot of really cheap glasses, a lot of really expensive glasses, and everything in between. What I can tell you is that they were good value, they feel very solid as soon as I buy them. I wore them for a day, went online and ordered two more. They just seem to be of good quality, they fit snugly on a sturdy hinge.
