This sound meter is great for industrial and scientific use. According to my experience with it, the Calibrator Pressure Microphone Noise Backlight Function works perfectly well. The backlight function really helps in dimly lit areas which is a plus. However, the only con would be the price which is a bit on the higher side. Overall, a great investment for ensuring accurate noise measurement in any setting.

Really very expensive for a job, almost twice the price of my meter! And it's the cheapest calibration tool ever! My sound level meter is calibrated with a very stiff screw potentiometer so readjustment is probably not necessary. I've checked the calibration a few times since the original calibration and my meter isn't working. So now this tool just sits there. If I get another counter I can use it again. I recently purchased an Extech SL510 Class 2 sound level meter and wanted to make sure the factory pre-calibration was successful. This Class 2 calibrator is one of the cheapest and works well - it fits a 1/2" mic and appears to be accurate: the SL510 delivered just 0.1dBA of the 94dBA sound produced by the calibrator.
