Works great use it to fill a camping dog water bowl and still connect the hose to the camper you just have to figure out how to keep the kids away from it as they are always their fill water pistols

This item is required to connect the water supply to the RV. It depressurizes the line at the fitting, allowing you to connect or disconnect the hose. I had 2 of these, forgot one at the state park, the second one I got was assembled upside down with the diverter facing up. It still works, but I have to watch when I turn it on or I'll take a shower. Not a big deal, and it gets laughs when someone pockets it. Good quality and yes the case is made of durable plastic and will hold up well.

Handy thing, works great. We use it just before the water filter that comes with our RV to provide an extra source of water for pumping sewage, cleaning tanks, etc. The only thing that bothers me is that the faucet section is plastic and I'm not. Although this diverter is partially plastic, I think it's strong enough to withstand a lot of hiking. It is very convenient to use it on external pipelines for washing and rinsing dishes, or washing dirty picnic tables or concrete slabs if you carry an extra hose and sink.
