Description of 📹 Sony FDR-AX33 Black Camcorder

The Sony FDR-AX33 4K digital camcorder is optimized to create recordings to the highest standard of detail. Its Exmor light-sensitive sensor, combined with a large aperture ZEISS lens, delivers high-contrast images with vibrant colors in all conditions. In addition, a 10x zoom is available to the user for working at an average distance from the subject. No distortion The new phase-detection autofocus system is capable of high-speed operation, ensuring that a fast-moving subject is captured - this is especially important for recording sports events. In addition, the camera is equipped with an optical SteadyShot stabilization system that controls the position of each lens - from the sensor to the front edge of the lens. Professional shooting Support for a bit rate of 100 Mb / s means the ability to record two files in XAVC S and AVCHD format at the same time. Thanks to this, the camera saves a video with a small volume, which can be quickly transferred to a computer for preview, and a high-quality video intended for further processing. This mode allows you to get recordings from several angles for subsequent editing. It will be especially useful for shooting festive events.

A good product at a good price, I advise you to try it.

A good camera, but I focus on the shortcomings, which, in principle, should not be. Too short The little finger of the hand that holds the camera rests directly on the microphone. The finger has to be bent. Poor management There are practically no buttons forcomntrolling video recording on the case, everything is shoved into the menu. The cardcomver does not move away, as in previous models, but opens like a door, which creates inconvenience when removing the card. No backlight In…

Pros
  • XAVC codec
Cons
  • Zoom Quality

There are pros and cons, think before buying.

the purple halo is corrected by changing the aperture (from 1.8 to 6), but this introduces noise. Not much in sharpness noticed the difference between full hd and 4K (tested indoors)

The best thing Ive ever used, a great item for everyone!

I bought the camera to replace the Panasonic HDC-DX1 and Sony HDR-SR1, which perfectly complemented each other, which could be "watered" without paying much attention to the level of illumination of the scene being shot. I shoot mostly 1080 50p. The difference in the quality of shooting day and night on the Sony FDR-AX33 compared to older cameras is more noticeable, but absolutely not critical for home video. I set the gain limit to 21db. I don’t use 4K, because there is no 4K TV, and I don’t…

Pros
  • Image stabilizer keeps a decent "shaking"; excellent detail in FHD 1080 50p mode; decent quality with a lack of lighting; the ability to limit the gain level when shooting scenes in low light; standard "shoe" for accessories. The quality of the display - at what angle do not look at it, the picture is not distorted. The viewfinder is retractable, and lifting.
Cons
  • Lack of remote control. Designed to replace it, the PMH mobile application has poor functionality, and a certain amount of time spent on connecting the camera to a phone or tablet. Somewhat unusual arrangement of threads for a tripod. Micro HDMI connector, had to buy a separate cable.

The product is good, there are only a few minor flaws.

If we compare with the Sony HXR-NX30, we get: In AX33 1) Removed the flash (a very significant minus for the photo) 2) Removed the projector (not very necessary, but still a nice function) 3) Removed the hood and external microphone. 4) Removed GPS (very rarely needed, but still) 5) REMOVED THE HARD DISK! - this is honestly terrible . write only on cards . besides, for 4K you need expensive high-speed SDXC 6) We changed the design of the "hot shoe" to use accessories from the NX30, you…

Pros
  • The presence of 4K, sound 5.1. WiFi
Cons
  • a lot (especially when compared with the Sony HXR-NX30)

I do not cease to rejoice at the purchase, a very good deal!

A good model for home and reporting. Comfortable, simple, with good quality and a wonderful stabilizer. 4K weighs a lot, requires a UHS-3 flash drive, and a good processing computer. I recommend as the best option from 4K cameras. 53 hurts dear now. Got pros: Cool stub, really helps with shaking and vibration. Lightweight (relative to x100), fast focus and comfortable shoe. Sound 5.1 (but not everyone needs it) and excellent autonomy (I took fv100 and shoot for 5-6 hours). I almost never shoot…

The product is completely satisfied, performs its functions.

I chose this device as an additional camera to the CX900, it shoots a general plan at events, the same batteries are used. Due to the compactness of the camera, it will not get in the way when traveling. Thanks to the ability to display 3 user buttons on the touch screen, it was possible to achieve quick access to the desired image and focus settings. I would like a little more functional buttons and options to customize the image. At the moment, the cost is very high, so I bought a camera…

Pros
  • The camera is quite compact, equipped with an effective stabilization system (there is no image sticking during panoramic shooting, it is comfortable to shoot at maximum magnification). Recording time with a regular battery - up to 3 hours, the possibility of recharging via USB. The standard hot shoe allows you to install a microphone or a backlight. Zoom is very fast, good autofocus.
Cons
  • Manual settings seem to be there, but it is impossible to control several parameters at once, it turns out like aperture priority or shutter speed modes. Poor white balance settings. In sunny weather, the lens catches a bunny, so a compact lens hood is a must. At maximum magnification, the aperture drops noticeably, halos appear. Viewfinder - below average (as on Canon G30)

If the had not fallen and the camera would have cost 30-35 thousand, as at the old rate, then I would have put up with all the shortcomings. But for this price (I took it in the Hong Kong region for 65), the toad is strangling, paying that kind of money and not even having built-in memory. Plus, you still need to buy everything, a lens hood, a memory card, batteries, a protective glass (required) To be honest, the desire to own this camera overshadowed my mind and I did not pay attention to…

Pros
  • A good picture with sufficient lighting, if you do not use a zoom (do not zoom in), there is no edging between contrasting objects, many formats, not bad photos if you do not crop (does not replace a DSLR) Stabilizer.
Cons
  • Indeed, there are shortcomings mentioned here by other authors, such as: short, 4K, we can say that it doesn’t exist, purely for show and a beautiful inscription, quality degradation during zooming, no flash, no backlight, apparently not enough quality optics, although Zeiss is written, the Chinese can be seen poorly enlightening it, because purple halos are almost everywhere, with Enlarging the frame is clearly noticeable, my old Sony NS-7e did not have this, the picture was equally clear and without halos throughout the entire zoom range, but that camera was made in Japan. There are no such settings as clarity, brightness, contrast, saturation of the picture, for me this is critical, I'm used to using these settings in all other cameras (including much older ones). In the new models, everything that was not needed was shoved in, but the necessary was removed. In the dark, I thought it would be better, I got used to the Kenon G10, where the picture is an order of magnitude better in the dark. Today I found a constant noise inside the case, apparently some kind of motor is working, maybe a stub, maybe ventilation (only audible in complete silence) The tripod mount is definitely out of place.
