I got this camera as my first real camera when I was studying film. I knew I was filming video and that it was becoming notorious for its poor autofocus, but I was shooting by hand so it didn't matter. I've read previous reviews that complained about the focus speed, but Canon released a firmware update that cured the problem. Canon has lowered the price anyway, making it a real bargain. I use it with a 22mm lens, which is also fast, very sharp and inexpensive. One feature I really like is the touch screen and how you can use it to trigger the shutter. .
