I love this flash. for flashes

Have been doing macro 1:1 with a Canon 100mm macro lens (not L) for a while. My results are good when using a tripod or when I have a lucky hand. After only a few hours with this flash, all I can say is AMAZING! This flash will change my macro photography. Punches immediately transitioned from speed luck to simple luck. I am currently using it with a Canon MP-E 65mm lens and it fits perfectly. expensive but worth every penny if you love macro photography.

Ease of use and versatility

I chose this model over the MT-14 because I liked the ability to set the flash positions independently, giving you maximum control over the final image. I found it very easy to use and felt comfortable straight away, although I don't actually use flash, I prefer natural light. However, macro photography often requires extra light, which is why I was pleased to find one that's so easy to use. Just a warning if you have a 100mm with IS you will need to buy an adapter ring to make it work. It's…

Essential mount for Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens

I find this speedlite to be an essential complement to my MP-E 65mm. I'd give it five stars, but for two admittedly minor (but annoying) features. The first is a screw-in locking ring to attach the device to the camera's hot shoe. It would be great if the locking lever could be used on the Speedlite 580 EXII and 430EXII. Second, it doesn't have a dial like the 580EXII. At the price this flash system demands, these improvements don't seem like much and would make fieldwork a lot easier. However,

Macro night and day enhancement

I've been watching these for years and then they were sold at a macro clinic sponsored by my local camera shop. Back then, Revain had the best price. They make a big difference in terms of adjustability, the modeling light helps set up the flashes, the ratio adjustment works as advertised if a little less efficiently than expected but can also be used to bounce light off a small reflector which is great is practical. Advantage in combination with a third IR controlled EX flash to create…

Great macro flash

The dual macro flash lets you illuminate the subject with two flashes that can be set to different intensities, creating a beautiful play of shadows on the subject. Dual lights can be rotated around the ring installed in your lens. Each head can also rotate left/right around its axis and up/down. You can also detach the flashlights from the ring and place them anywhere, which is easier if you use <A HREF="http://www.amazon.com/DUAL-ARM-Macro-Bracket-camera-flashgun/dp/…

Good device, but only fits on one lens. Here's how to improve it.

Yes, it's a top flash, but Canon definitely makes it difficult to use with anything other than the standard macro lens. I switched from an Opteka RL-600 E-TTL II Macro Twin Ring Lite Flash and the transition was disappointing. First, Opteka fits any 77mm filter size and offers adapters for smaller lenses. Opteka's downsizing adapters fit almost every lens. This Canon has a filter size of just 58mm which means large lenses will be blocked by the ring and this is a really bad design choice. This…
