Canon MT 24EX Macro Digital Cameras Review

Have been doing macro 1:1 with a Canon 100mm macro lens (not L) for a while. My results are good when using a tripod or when I have a lucky hand. After only a few hours with this flash, all I can say is AMAZING! This flash will change my macro photography. Punches immediately transitioned from speed luck to simple luck. I am currently using it with a Canon MP-E 65mm lens and it fits perfectly. expensive but worth every penny if you love macro photography.

I find this speedlite to be an essential complement to my MP-E 65mm. I'd give it five stars, but for two admittedly minor (but annoying) features. The first is a screw-in locking ring to attach the device to the camera's hot shoe. It would be great if the locking lever could be used on the Speedlite 580 EXII and 430EXII. Yes, it's a top flash, but Canon definitely makes it difficult to use with anything other than the standard macro lens. I switched from an Opteka RL-600 E-TTL II Macro Twin Ring Lite Flash and the transition was disappointing. First, Opteka fits any 77mm filter size and offers adapters for smaller lenses.
