Very good but not great camera

I bought these for my mother in law who will only use this camera in "automatic" mode so I look at it from that point of view. Overall, this is a decent point-and-shoot camera for the price. I chose it because it has a bigger screen for my aging mother-in-law, which she appreciates. My/her main complaint is that the 4 navigation buttons (around the Feature Set button) are quite small and difficult to press (again with aging, arthritic hands). She also wishes there was a dedicated delete button…

it is good for the price

it is good for the price. Takes sharp pictures and has many features at a great price. the battery is really bad. If you plan to take a lot of shots on any given day, you need at least one backup battery. I've found the battery only lasts 4-6 hours depending on holiday usage. The backup I got was no better. Unfortunately, Canon cameras cannot charge the battery by connecting it to an external battery or other USB charger. Users must remove the battery and charge it with the included charger…

I used to have a Canon Powershot and loved it! I was excited to see one with Wi-Fi connectivity and I was able to upload photos straight to Facebook to share with family and friends. Despite installing and uninstalling software, I can't start Canon Image X (it freezes at 80%) and I can't connect the camera to my computer via Wi-Fi. I've spent the last two days trying to find solutions to these problems and found that there are no working solutions. I'm frustrated that I've spent so much time…

Still blinking after all this excitement.

I love this man! As an avid traveler, I don't want to lug around a DSLR and all of its accessories. So I went through many digital cameras, dropped them, smashed them in my luggage, spilled things on them: they are too fragile and the pictures weren't that good. This ELPH has replaced an expensive pocket size with bells and whistles including a touch screen. I kept touching the wrong settings and just picking them up. ELPH was great. it is as pocket sized as it is expensive. no touch screen (a…

Compact and great

This little gem is very compact but packed with great features. Full-auto mode gets most shots right without asking much of the user, while scene and semi-manual modes let you get creative and get more focused shots. The battery life is better than I expected for such a small camera. a few hundred photos on the very first charge (about 1 in 10 with flash) before a charge is required. The "Panorama" mode was confusing at first, I was expecting it to glue photos together in-camera, but it's…
