We are happy to find shoes for boys!

I was so happy to find these shoes for my son who is an Irish dancer and needed a tap shoe as a precursor to the traditional hard shoe. I could only find styles for girls in a few dance shops in my area. The matte leather and lace style is very masculine and I'm happy with the price for the quality. He hasn't worn them to class yet but I hope they hold up until he's ready for the next level of dancing.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other styles

A Happy Tap Dancer

My son was inspired by Singing in the Rain and wanted to learn to tap. I can't go to the shops with a broken leg so I had to order shoes online. (Also, local dance shops don't have a wide selection of boys' tap shoes.) These shoes indicated that they were street size. My son's foot size was 11.5 according to the Revain chart so I ordered a size 12. When they arrived they looked so tiny but they actually fit him perfectly. He couldn't wait to lace them up and pat them. The shoes appear soft and…

If your kid knows how to tie their laces, get these tap shoes

Durable tap shoes My daughter learned to tie her shoelaces just to wear these tap shoes (she didn't want velcro Mary Janes carry more). They hold their shape well and they can easily tapa-tapa-tapa. They are more like shoes and she never had trouble taking them off. We originally bought her a street size (1) but traded in for a 1.5w - she doesn't have a wide foot. Please note you may need a W size as they appear a bit narrow and maybe a bit small.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
