First of all I had a higher end Carl Cutter for many years and was happy with it. I don't see the same model for sale right now, but my model had a locking bar and magnetic guide and was fine for precision cutting. I was traveling and needed a better paper cutter than mine so I had no hesitation in ordering another Carl. But this one is average at best. If you have to cut a piece of paper, forget it. . . You cut the edge and then the blade goes over the edge of thick paper/cardboard instead of…

Absolutely not. You will not cut the same line twice + straight lines are rare!

I use this for my small business and we only need to cut letter size paper into half sheets. I first bought a CARL RT-200N professional reel trimmer and was disappointed as the grid markings were wrong! Read my review about it. For this, the grid labels seem correct, but the problem is that I can't make the same cut twice. I checked the paper alignment and centered the paper but to no avail - see photos. What a disappointment

First, NO instructions! The hardest part is cutting the plastic it's in. There is no stitch mark at the top and it's not easy to tell where it will cut due to the edge on the side (which has a measured mark which still hasn't proved useful) so I literally have to use a ruler to make sure my size is correct before cutting. It's also not easy to cut anything wider than 8.5 inches. While trying to determine exactly where the cut would be made, I accidentally rotated the cutting handle from the…
