I bought the watch because it is rated for diving to 660ft. However, you must be in a bright, direct light source to see the numbers and letters. It has a way of illuminating the dial, but the manual states that the battery only lasts 2 years if the backlight is limited to 3.5 seconds per day and the alarm is limited to 20 seconds per day. Well let me start by saying this watch is traditionally the best watch I have ever owned! They will last around 8 years and the bracelet probably around 4 years.
