Side buttons no longer work

That was my extra camping watch. We travel several times a year and my smartwatch is definitely not enough for the whole week or weekend. It was actually handy to get elevation change estimates or a quick temp check during some hikes. When not in use, it was left with my camping gear. I was going to pull it out last weekend only to find the buttons became unresponsive. The last time we went camping was before daylight savings time, so not only couldn't I use these handy features, but it wasn't…

Altimeter and barometer work great.

As a pilot, I knew I could test the barometer/altimeter well. I have to say I'm really amazed at its accuracy and consistency. I was afraid I'd have to fork out hundreds of dollars for a watch with a decent barometer. Not only did my watch match my plane's altimeter, I didn't have to recalibrate my barometer for over two months. I regularly compare it to pressure readings at local airports. I figured it would need to be recalibrated every week or so, but that never happens. (Like an airplane…

Great value for money, mediocre reliability

I've been on my 3rd watch for about 4 years. It was great but not perfect. My first watch lasted 3 years and unfortunately slipped into the lake when I got caught somewhere and the strap broke. I bet one still works. I exchanged it without hesitation. Display number 2 failed in "gibberish" mode after only 3 months and Casio replaced it under warranty. Number 3 just locked and is still showing the time (warranty expired) but the buttons didn't work. I was able to restart it by removing and…

Of all the Casio watches, this is the most outstanding!

Let me start by saying that I've had a lot of Casio watches. G; Ranger; mud master; protrek; Squares and circles, thick and thin. This one is simply outstanding. Why do you ask? 1. Expenses. Sure, you can buy cheap watches that won't last long, but the pretty good thing about Casio is that no matter the price range, you'll have quality. Why spend more on G or fancy features when the price is great here? 2. Visibility. When I'm in my fifties some of the smaller casios just don't fit. It has a…

Pros
  • Handsome
Cons
  • Inefficient

The first impression is very favorable for such a price. I will update this review if it proves unreliable, but the features packed into this under $40 watch are amazing. The altimeter is a little patchy, near sea level, but the barometer is on point. I've calibrated the altimeter and it's still slightly off, but here in Florida the only way I can test it is by climbing a few flights of stairs - not the best test. I'll be at 10,000ft next week and will be climbing a mountain at 12.5+000ft with…
