Only works partially

OK I doubted if this worked or not but it only worked partially. I wanted to increase the length of the USB cable by just 10 feet. I moved the laser cutter around the room. There were 2 connections from the computer: 1 laser controller and 2 cameras. These connectors didn't recognize the laser at all, BUT! They worked with a laser camera, so I was a little lucky. Hence the 3 stars

Pros
  • Good for many

Great price, great product!

Great, works like a charm. Do you have a home automation system with a PC dedicated to house music. Located on a wall shelf, connect USB over Cat. 6 to the living room for a USB hub. never a problem Increasingly, it makes it easier to centralize hardware and put cables where you need them. Blast is clean, simple and AMAZING!

Pros
  • beautiful thing
Cons
  • long

Didn't work for Meeting Owl Pro

The computer saw it but the owl didn't work properly. I switched to a standard USB cable and it worked fine. Tested with 50' cable (pre-fitted) and two different 6' pre-fitted cables. If you need a long USB connection, consider purchasing a USB extender with a repeater.

  • handy thing

slower than 1996 usb 1 kinda

I've tried both long and short version 5, 5e and 6 ethernet cables and they all read data slower than a megabit. USB1 Gen 1 slow speed is 1.5 while USB 1 Full Standard can go up to 12. It also turns off randomly because it's not designed for continuous use, although I'm sure there are reasons this works well, but not linearly. He gets 1 star for not listing it anywhere on his page.

Pros
  • electronics
Cons
  • very expensive

What You Need to Know If Custom Ethernet Works for You!

TLDR; When using non-standard cables, make sure that they are connected straight and not crossed! If you know too much about network cables and the "right" way to connect them when making custom cables with them, you might think these devices are bullshit! Traditionally, an Ethernet cable has the transmitting pins connected to the receiving pins on the other side and vice versa. Referred to as a crossover cable and should be used for any Ethernet application except network switch to network…
