Fits well, almost direct replacement.

Great replacement for an 80 year old bulb in a Philco radio. Didn't think there would be a suitable replacement but these fit perfectly with a little modification.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Has disadvantages

Electric 1847 but not always a functional replacement

The resulting bulbs behave electrically like the 1847 but this is a newer style with the filament deeper in the bulb. As such, older radio dials designed for higher filaments will not be as well illuminated. Also, the lamps supplied have a silver base and do not look like what is shown in the product advertisement (these are 1847 lamps with an old style brass base).

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs

Great replacement for the #47 in a pinball machine

This is a slightly darker version of the #47 bulb you might find in a pinball machine. The upside is that they last almost twice as long as #47 because the filament is heavier. Lately I've found that #47 lightbulbs are junk and a large percentage of them fail right out of the box. They already look and feel like the best lightbulb and so far there have been no instant failures.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Electric 1847 but not always working replacement

The resulting bulbs behave electrically like 1847's but this is a newer style with the filament deeper in the bulb. Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
