Excellent Thunderbolt Dock

I bought it to use with my Asus Zephyrus to avoid tangled cables with my new Vive Pro. The video out works, but for some reason the USB for the headset has to go straight to the computer. I have speakers and a USB-C hard drive, everything works great. Solid little machine.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Great price

Excellent value for money - same features as more expensive brands

A very affordable unit with all the features of more expensive and well known brands. I'm using it with a MacBook Pro, powering two HD displays + one MacBook display + one USB 3 hub. It's everything I wanted in a compact, easy to connect device at a great price. Nice job, cable counts!

Ideal for 2016 15 " MacBook Pro with Touch Bar

I purchased this dock for my 2016 (late October) 15" MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. All ports seem to be working fine, but I can test the ethernet later. I'll post here if I run into any problems with it. I had absolutely no issues with initial or ongoing usage/connection. The block itself only gets slightly warm. While it doesn't offer a full charge capability, it does slow my MacBook Pro's discharge.

Works well in laptop accessories

Have been using for a week now and love it. Better than a million dongles, and more affordable compared to the prices of other docks [here's some talk about Thunderbolt 3 and a hint at what can be left out of each dock] I was a bit disappointed to find that Thunderbolt 3 only works with 15W charging. This is not a docking error, it is a Thunderbolt 3 issue. So you need to connect the power cord to the laptop at the same time as the docking station. The cable is very short, but that's not the…

Dell XPS 15, 9560 Monitor Issues

Updated Review Cable Matters has tried very diligently to resolve the following issues. Unfortunately, according to their technician, this is a problem with the Dell software. I can't verify that, but all I can say is that they tried everything. So I'm updating my review based on the fact that the rest of the hardware attached to the dock works fine. The only issue is with the monitor, which I've described below. One thing to note is that when I connect the monitor directly to my laptop, the…

Solid product - works great!

Works great. Bought to drive a Displayport monitor and a DVI-DL monitor. I connected a displayport to minidisplayport adapter to the onboard port and then connected an Apple DVI dual link adapter to it and it works great. I'm using a second Thunderbolt port to drive a second 4k display (using this: USB-C Cable to DisplayPort 4k @ 60Hz Adapter, 5.9ft 1.8m, QGeeM USB 3.1 TYPE C Adapter to Displayport adapter, 4K HDTV support, for Macbook Pro 2016 2017, ChromeBook, Pixel, Dell XPS Sumsang S8…

Ground loop noise on audio interfaces

This Thunderbolt hub comes with a power supply that contains a ground loop that creates high-pitched hum in your speakers/monitors, and this is especially true with USB 2.0. connected audio interfaces. I am connecting a Steinberg UR44 USB2.0 audio interface to this Thunderbolt hub in my 2018 MacBook Pro. Macbook Pros since 2016 are completely unusable with USB 2.0 due to audio dropouts. So the only solution is to get an external certified Thunderbolt 3 hub (not one of the cheap options, but…
