They break down all the time and are unreliable. Makes gaming almost impossible because you have to constantly set it up or reconnect it.

The 2.5mm jack is not tight enough to fit and hold. I've used these adapters in two different setups and they always fail. I used them to extend the remote RF blaster. After a while (usually a few hours) the blaster just stops working. The connection looks and feels secure, but lacks continuity. If I press the connection with my hand, it works again. In both cases I replaced it with a solder joint and there were no problems.

Purchased as my current 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter that I use with my Panasonic cordless phone was beginning to fall apart. Unfortunately that wasn't a solution. The plug was tight but produced terrible echo and noise and the sound was only in one ear, not that I wanted it in two at the time as the feedback was pounding my eardrums. I've tried both adapters, tried different phones and it was the same on all of them. Went back to my old tape adapter mind you and it was ten times better than this…
