I don't know what my scent means in this review. Filters water and does a great job. Use them in a GE reverse osmosis system and they will fit and filter properly.

Excellent filters, but. If you're only getting a glass or half a glass of water, it's not a filter. The problem is that the tank loses air pressure over time. You need to drain the system and use a bike pump or similar to inflate the pump to 7 pounds.

So at first it has an odd papery taste compared to the OEM cone but when I run about 2 full tanks it clears up then I don't notice any difference. My well water tastes awful, and it certainly hasn't a hint of that taste.

As an end user I have no idea where these filters were made, what they are made of or if they are safe to use. These filters may come with the original filter housing, but where are the specs and details? What percentage of impurities are filtered out? After all, the water is not as tasty as the original filters.

I bought two sets of these filters thinking they were a direct replacement for my GE Smart Water GXRM10G system. I cleaned the filter housing and ran a small amount of bleach/water mixture through the system as I have for the past 10 years. I installed these filters and flushed the system several times over the course of three days. The water has a terrible chemical taste. I'll throw them in the trash and buy new Osmonics filters.
