Well I'll start off by saying it definitely works, but there are problems. Since glass is hard, it's almost impossible to file the entire nail without shaving a ton of the surface to make it perfectly flat. It is also difficult to hit the corners of the nail. The file also sometimes leaves a small, hatched line on the nail, which you then have to file off. I love this set! I didn't like the idea of using soft paper like nail buffers/polishers, they just don't feel strong and bend so easily under my fingers.
