Good cable but the ends are too small

I bought this cord to connect a portable generator to an outlet. While making the connections on each end, I noticed that the formed ends are so small I can't get a firm grip to insert or remove them from the connectors.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Excellent cord for portable generators with 30A plugs.

I had a severe power outage for four days and after running a few wires from my generator on our back deck I purchased this unit. Now it's a plug into a 30 amp outlet and a cord through the door. All branches in-house. Much more convenient.

Pros
  • Great Construction
Cons
  • Upgrades Available

Tested three days in a row. Nice and strong, worked great.

So a week after receiving the cable, we had a three-day power outage. I connected it to my 4000 watt generator and it worked perfectly. Beautiful and durable, well made and the yellow cord is great at night so you don't trip over it.

Pros
  • Robust workmanship
Cons
  • Some small things

Revain needs to correct the description, three ways out.

Revain Description needs correction, three rosettes 5-15r not 5-20r. Champion's website clearly states "Equipped with a fan array of (3) standard 5-15R outlets." This may not matter to most, but it does if you're trying to plug in a 5-20P plug , it doesn't fit. At 5-20P, one blade is perpendicular to the other; on the 5-15P, both blades are parallel.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Hard to say

The only thing Champion has is a box

This cable is manufactured by Xuanhua (China) and is marked as such on both the connectors and the cable itself. The cable is not branded or tagged as a champion. I figured it would be worth paying a little more than the "unbranded" options to get something you can trust. Unfortunately I paid more but still got "non-branded". It would be nice to save money just to buy the Xuanhua cable without the Champion box. Pretty disappointing and feels a bit cheated.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Small change

Beware of plugs.

Nice and strong cable and I'm sure it will work for it's intended purpose. The cable connects the backup generator to my house. Unfortunately both ends of the cable did not fit into either the house socket or the generator socket. The locking pins were the opposite of what was required. I checked this carefully before ordering the cable, but there is a slight difference in the connectors. So unfortunately I had to order two plugs that imitated the corresponding plugs. Spring; Just a warning.

Cons
  • High price

Heavy duty, high quality.

Great quality and dare I say "commercial" use. I bought it to use with a Honda alternator and it did what an extension cord is supposed to do without too much heat. However, I did not carry out a large load. This cable will undoubtedly last a lifetime. It's not very flexible, but as long as you don't have to thread it through any hamster hoses or anything, you'll be fine. The yellow color is very bright and hard to miss on the ground, making it less likely to trip over it. But I'm sure I'll…

Pros
  • Extension cord
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Not flexible in cold weather.

Bought this instead of other cheaper brands that were comparable to my new Champion 3500w Dual Fuel Generator. The Champion generator is well designed and well made, so the Champion brand generator accessories are of the same quality. While the power cord is advertised as being flexible in both low and high temperatures, this is not true. It's not what I would call really cold at the moment, the temp is 20-30. I attempted to unwrap the cord from the box to test it from the generator to my…

Seems to work as advertised

Got this for use with my Champion 7500W Dual Fuel Generator. Seems to be working fine. So far I've only used it when running in the generator, but it seemed to run two 1500w heaters (one for the 'red' plugs, one for the 'green' plugs) with no problem. As far as I can tell it doesn't have any lights to indicate the power is on, but it does have dots painted on it to indicate which "half" of the 240v phase the plugs are connected to. You really need to perfectly balance the load between the…
