You get what you pay for. broken in two places. 1. Use

Well you get what you pay for. Used once on a trip to Algonquin last week. The chest strap broke before it was even used, and then the metal back brace tore a hole in the bottom seam. Holds up quite a bit, but it was worth paying the extra money for better packaging.

You get what you pay for.

On my first ride with it (Border Waters) the lower shoulder strap connection broke. The backpack weighed 70-80 pounds and I think it would be fine for the 30-50 pound range. This is a good package for its price. The ripstop is thin and can tear. It has a lot of nice features for the price, a quality waist belt and chest strap. It may be less than advertised but unlike other posters I filled in the top and it is fine and still well balanced. This is a good starter pack. I've boosted mine…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

In the end, the disadvantages outweigh the disadvantages. The declared volume is NOT 110 cm3. It's a lot less. The lack of a drawstring in the top fly also takes up a lot of space (you need to fold and pin the fly). The chest strap has an elastic section, so it's not easy to adjust. The material is good, if a little heavy, but the stitching is weak because the height of the shoulder straps couldn't be adjusted, the waist belt couldn't be positioned correctly...it was a mistake Granite Gear…

Pros
  • Backpacks for backpacks
Cons
  • Low repairability

Normal for this money: hiking backpacks

size 18 x 9 x 23 so more like 3700 USD. I just used this for a week on the Allagash River in Maine. When I received it I saw that the fabric was a little light so I added some rivets at key stress points (shoulder strap attachments, handle attachments and key body corners). I did hear a few seams squeak here and there during the ride, but overall it holds up well, doesn't tear and dries quickly. It will work as a lighter bag, if you're the kind of person who tosses your bags in and out of the…

Pros
  • backpacks, bags and accessories
Cons
  • I say nothing

If I could do a 3.5, I would take it. I've been on numerous trips to the border waters and took this bag with me. First, you need to adjust your expectations for the price. This is not Granite Gear, Duluth Pack, Kondos, or Cooke Custom Sewing. Also, this isn't even close to $6700. (-1 star). I think they calculated that with a fully deployed tube - unrealistic. The largest packs like the Granite Gear Superior One and Cooke Custom Sewing (CCS) cost less than $6,000. An amazing amount of features

Pros
  • Hiking backpacks
Cons
  • Not everything fits
