I have a 1940's men's tuxedo but the velvet belt is missing. It works well. It's a stretchy fabric but well made. I am very picky about quality so if it was really cheap junk I would return it. It's great for what I needed it for. It arrived too fast.

NOT VELVET. This is a satin product, a flimsy and thin material - definitely NOT VELVET. Very soft and long, that's right. Seems durable, but I've replaced the strap with a wraparound sheath. I was not expecting that. I find this works for most, but I would like the description to be more specific.

The belt itself is nice, not too long and not too short, and the material goes really well with suede or velvet. However, the smell was terrible! I took it with me to my Thanksgiving outfit and it came in the mail the day I left so I packed it in my suitcase unopened. I took it out of the box on Thanksgiving morning and it smelled like mold.
