I had to buy this charger at least 3 times, the 3rd time I just stopped using my Chromebook and worked exclusively on my company laptop *The real problem is probably that the usb -c connection is one of the worst values - the connection keeps breaking/breaking - i had this problem not only with this charger but also with google pixel phone chargers and headphone jacks. If you're here to replace your Chromebook charger, I recommend just skipping the whole thing, it'll save you money later.

I've had it for three months now and sometimes it works now, sometimes it doesn't. It seems that sometimes it gets hot too. The USB-C connector does not sit flush with my computer, there is a small gap. This was not the case with the original charger. I ended up buying an original HP charger thinking it would fail forever so it's not the best value for money. From now on I will only buy authentic products.

This charger shorted out my Chromebook. We thought the computer was just out of order. Not charged or turned on. I received a new Chromebook under warranty and it worked great. A week later I tried this charger and the new Chromebook went black and wouldn't start! I have a call to HP. Very disappointed. What is my way out?

I bought it to replace the school chromebook charger. Chromebooks can charge for a while, so laptops only need to be charged twice a week, sometimes less. We used the charger for almost 4 months and it stopped charging. As this took just outside the return window there is nothing I can do but learn from my mistakes and now spend more on an OEM charger. So the moral of the story, it's not a REAL savings if you have to buy three to last you a year!
