I have this handy mount to turn my old phone into a DVR and it works great! It's all metal, probably aluminum, very well built and durable. It's a bit confusing to set up, but works great when you finally connect your phone to it. In addition, it keeps the phone fairly stable, which is very important for videos from DVR. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a convenient way to hold their phone under the rear view mirror. By the way, I use it in my 2017 Honda Civic Sport hatchback.

I bought this for a trip to Scotland but the Sixt hire company gave me an Audi A4 ;-) with full navigation on the dashboard so I couldn't use it. LOVEET IT. I've tried so many different products. Mounting on the windshield, on the dashboard, on the ventilation grille, nothing works. The sun is too hot for the windshield suction style and my GPS/phone is cutting out. I recently bought a 2018 Mazda 3 Hatchback and if you have one the slotted cup holder mount isn't the best as the cup holders are farther back than most. This clamp is great if you find yourself in a similar situation.
