Because dad refuses to wear hearing aids.

This phone has helped me a lot. No more screaming like a madman trying to talk to him! The ability to adjust the ringer and speaker volume is great, and the boost button is an even better addition! The big buttons are great, and the preset memory selector buttons are great too. I wanted to set up the phone right away and didn't have photos of me and all family members handy, so I used a thick marker to write each person's initials on a piece of paper - cut it out and taped it there instead.โ€ฆ

I'm partly to blame for the bad rating, but I hope for my comments.

I bought this for my 90 year old parents. The main features were large numbers and the ability to place family photos in them. I'm partly to blame for the bad rating, but I hope my comments will help you change future versions of this product. I couldn't put my phone on the table where I planned it (next to my disabled father's chair [partially blind and inactive]) because it needed its own phone jack. So I hung it on the kitchen wall, near where it's standing, but the hook to hang the phoneโ€ฆ

My mom loves it!

I bought this phone for my 83 year old mother who has Alzheimer's. She often found it difficult to call people and would always complain that something was wrong with their phones (she even called the police on one occasion because her phone "wasn't working"). that she mistyped - added numbers, omitted numbers, wrong area code, etc. This phone solved that problem and she loves one-touch calling! She is also hard of hearing so this phone's volume suits her. I was concerned because severalโ€ฆ

Good phone for the visually and hearing impaired!

This is probably the 4th or 5th phone bought for elderly relatives in the last ten years. We have always needed large buttons (for the visually impaired) as well as amplifiers (for the hearing impaired). Most phones have handled one well but not the other. It is one of the best options for the visually and hearing impaired. Picture dialing is also a nice feature, as most stored numbers require either a combination of buttons or a small button labeled with just a number. Here you print out aโ€ฆ

How wonderful!

I bought this phone for a loved one who has dementia and tremors. Portable phones were no longer available because they were constantly being lost or thrown away. She had trouble answering calls because she couldn't find the right button(s) to press. So I needed a phone that never leaves its place (connected to the base) and something with big buttons. I didn't know exactly how to use the button because I knew he wouldn't be able to match 7-10 correct numbers. Then I found this phone. Howโ€ฆ
