I bought sleeping bags and tried Merlin's magic costume, diapers, halo, etc. Merlin's magic costume worked well but unfortunately only up to a size of 6-9 months and my 6-1 month old was a size 9-12 for 5 months. Received this after taking my baby out of a traditional diaper but he still has the startle reflex. I wouldn't say Zipadeezip does that much to dampen flinching. My baby still sometimes winces when waking up between sleep cycles. It helps some, but basically your baby just needs to get used to not being swaddled, regardless of the zipper.
