I think the "trick" of this mascara for the lower lashes is that the brush is very small. I also use it on my upper lashes. However, it tends to clump and flake on the upper lashes.

I have used this product in the past so it is not new to me. It works great for you with short, straight lashes. I use a curling iron on my top lashes and a coat of another mascara. I use the wedge for the lower lashes and to fill in the gaps on the upper lashes.
