Well, I didn't get mauled by a bear, but my backpack was pulled out of the tree anyway, just in case. They seem to be working really well, but I'm still cutting wood for peace of mind. I would consider it worth the price.

These bags work. I've found that many of the regular zippered pouches don't completely block food or other odors when closed, but these pouches do. They're significantly more expensive than regular grocery bags, but if you don't want to smell, these bags will do the trick.

I love these bags and have used them for ice in the fridge when traveling and also to carry smelly things like coffee. They work great, are airtight and block odors. Reusing them as ice packs can puncture the plastic, so if you plan to use them for that, line them with an extra "regular" plastic bag for extra protection.
