Because the lacing area doesn't open to simply slip your foot into the shoe. I recommend that you choose half or full size. Especially wearing socks with it. I ordered a school size 5 because I usually wear a size 5 or 5.5, but I reordered a school size 6 to fit comfortably with socks. I can wear 5 without socks but of course it's winter so I need socks lol.

At first I was skeptical about buying this shoe but after reading the reviews I decided to try it. The color is very bright and bold, which is exactly what I wanted. I'm on my feet 8-12 hours a day. The shoes are very wide for my short thick feet and very comfortable. I recommend IF YOU HAVE NARROW FEET to choose a smaller size due to the width of the shoe. These shoes are really designed for kids of ALL AGES and ADULTS too.

These shoes are hot! Seriously, they draw everyone's attention! The first day my son wore them to school, every kid looked at his feet and loved them. The yellow color is beautiful and bright. They have very soft insoles. We've only had them 3 days so we'll see how long the shoes hold up to 6 years of wear and exercise.
