I bought this for long hikes. I recently used it to store groceries for my 5 day trip to the Colorado Rockies. I am impressed. Even after 5 days of my trip, half the ice was there and the food was frozen. I would definitely recommend this.

Excellent fridge to use for weekend trips. Keeps food cold and ice holds up well. Used it on a 2 day trip from Great White North to Florida. Use some 'blue bricks' to keep the ground coldest, then frozen meat, then food and so on. We were satisfied with its capacity. On arrival we were NOT disappointed that the meat was still frozen. This ice box is a joke. I pre-chilled it with ice the night before. In the morning the ice had completely melted and the walls of the cooler outside felt cold. I filled it with frozen food from the freezer, put 6 bottles of ice on top, closed it and covered the cooler with 3 heavy towels for extra insulation. I agree with the previous reviewer that the radiator cap needs to be maneuvered and pushed to close. I have a Coleman cooler (60 gallon) from many, many years ago. In comparison, the lid of the new cooler is significantly weaker at the hinges and has significantly more play. It's okay, it just takes a few more seconds to securely close the lid. However, this appears to show a change in design/manufacturing quality. The wheels are big enough to be used on uneven surfaces, but I wouldn't use them

Well, I have about 3 coolers at my house in Tennessee. However, I was in New York to visit family and realized I forgot to bring one of my coolers so I could bring loads of Russian food (sausage, cheese, fish, etc) and that was a farce , because returning Russian food to Tennessee is the only reason I drive 18 hours to New York.
