I've started embroidering and quilting again. I use my 20 year stored mats to keep them flexible. I forgot about the little fibers sticking out and bought this to remove them. It did a great job. I was surprised as many of the reviews were negative. It works well!

It's great to find something you didn't even know you had! I saw a thread on the quilting facebook page and a woman mentioned this product. I just tried cleaning my cutting mat with less than brilliant results so I ordered this smoother one. Works perfectly! I wish I knew about this product and that I HAD to have done this many years ago.

This product purports to smooth and actually refresh the cutting mat. I read some other reviews and there were some complaints about how much effort it takes to "smooth out" the mat. I received the item and was surprised at how solid the product was. It was almost like hard plastic. I thought it would be a little softer, maybe like hard silicone. I tried using it on one of my rugs and not only did it not work, it also erased the lines on my rug a bit. It did not revitalize or remove fibers left
