This product purports to smooth and actually refresh the cutting mat. I read some other reviews and there were some complaints about how much effort it takes to "smooth out" the mat. I received the item and was surprised at how solid the product was. It was almost like hard plastic. I thought it would be a little softer, maybe like hard silicone. I tried using it on one of my rugs and not only did it not work, it also erased the lines on my rug a bit. It did not revitalize or remove fibers left in the mat, nor did it clean the surface of residue. All in all it was a disappointment and I sent it back.
