There aren't many stylish coats in this age range, it suits my daughter very well. It is also light and compact for a school backpack.

I bought this jacket so my daughter can go hiking and be prepared for rain. She and my husband went camping and it started raining and her shirt got wet. The inside of the jacket was also wet. I don't know how anyone can sell a "raincoat" that doesn't protect you from the rain. Maybe I'll try to come back.

Columbia, medium-sized girls' jacket is very well-tailored and fashionable. The sleeves seem a bit long, but the elasticated wrists solve that problem. The jacket is a lot lighter than I expected, but would be perfect for spring/fall with a light sweater here in New England, or for early summer weather without it. The hood looks great and I love that the lining matches the zipper! Quality - Attention to design details.

I ordered this raincoat for my daughter but it is spring now and it is still a bit cold on rainy days. So she can only wear it in the summer because this jacket has no lining to protect her from the cold. I thought it was some sort of lightweight jacket, but it's only fabric-like plastic, although well made. I'm still disappointed that she can't use it right away.

This jacket from Columbia looks very nice and looks well tailored. It has no lining and is therefore not suitable for colder weather. It did a great job of keeping my granddaughter dry during the spring and summer rains and she loves the tails in the back. The only downside for us is the lack of a sweat-wicking liner. Because it's waterproof, there's little, if any, airflow, so she does sweat a little. Due to the lack of lining, your jacket can become uncomfortably damp.

We are knee deep in spring and my daughter needs a new raincoat which seemed to fit perfectly. I was concerned that the dovetail on the back looked weird. However, when she put it on, I could tell that it blended much better than it looked in the manufacturer's photo. The longer ponytail at the back actually helps repel water around your back so your bottom doesn't get wet.
