Bought these shoes to go to the Grand Canyon to replace my old Salomone. Just got back and it was a great last second purchase. Lots of snow and ice. They turned out to be 100% waterproof, as expected. They were warm enough in wool socks and even breathed very well. They were very comfortable with very little shrinkage. Lots of long walks, legs didn't hurt. The fit was a bit large but thick socks were okay. I used 10 instead of the 10.5 I wear in my regular tennis shoes.

My last pair of Columbia hiking/hiking boots lasted a while and remained remarkably waterproof most of their life. However, these failed miserably in 10 months and my feet got wet! Both shoes don't have the tread attached to the toe anymore and they were only waterproof for about 6 months and then started leaking, now they don't offer water protection.
