Columbia SANTIAM Regular Strap Sandal Review

Columbia saves pennies per pair by keeping the adjustable toe and instep straps very short. I have a wide foot, the sole came up but the instep is high too. This combination made the straps too short to wear. If they added an inch or two of adjustment to the straps, everything would be fine; If I stretched the straps far enough to be able to hold them, they would be too tight. I didn't want to get bigger because then the length of the sole would be way past my toes.

As previously mentioned, the front strap is quite short and there are ridges along the inside edges of the straps which make them quite uncomfortable and can easily cause blisters depending on foot shape. Too bad the sole and insole are among the best. I also have a pair of Columbia Ridgeway sandals that I bought at the Columbia Outlet Store. Same sole and shell, different straps. They were extremely comfortable from day one, with much better padding around the straps and more heel cushioning…

I wear size 10.5 shoes so I ordered size 11 sandals and they were tight, returned them for a size 12 and I had to loosen the straps to the max length and they barely fit me. very disappointed in them

I buy a lot from Columbia because they are always well made and well priced compared to some of their overpriced competitors (you know who I'm talking about). These sandals feel very durable and have good cushioning. I doubt I'd take long hikes with them, but they're fine for business, travel, and everyday wear.

I wanted a sandal with arch support. I walk a lot and good support makes my walks easy. I usually wear shoes from size 101/2 to 11. After reading previous reviews I ordered a size 10. Perfect fit.

I love these sandals! I mean as soon as my abrasion from wearing it had healed. The toe strap has a gap between the 3rd and 4th fingers. New skin rubs the foot and creates abrasions. This is bad design. TEVA has shock absorbing padding under the strap that runs the full length. It's not Colombia. I suggest opening the strap, laying it on a hard surface (like a workbench or piece of wood) and taking a hammer and hitting the strap to soften the leather. I buy them at a very reasonable price. Those are good sandals. Very comfortable and doesn't chafe or blister anywhere (like the last pair I bought). Good cushions, good sole, high-quality Velcro. I bought a pair of Columbia sandals for a trip to the Caribbean and after trying all three pairs at home they were the most comfortable. Sent the rest back and no regrets. I've worn these sandals 90% of the time on my travels and never felt my feet get tired. I was wondering how the "leather" straps would hold up to getting wet at the beach and other events, but they look great afterwards.
