The switch on the bottom that turns off the fan if it tips over is poorly designed. The little leg that completes the circuit melted because it was made out of junk plastic and stopped working altogether. It lasted about 6 months and then died completely. By the way, this is the second device. The first only lasted 5-7 days before I had to request a replacement for allegedly having the same problem.

I bought this because I have had very similar units in the past which were great but this heater was awful. First, it had an awful smell when it was first plugged in and turned on. I had to let it run outside for over 5 hours before the smell went away. Second, while the fan itself isn't very loud, or at least not loud to me, it made an awful chirping noise in fan mode, like the fan blade hitting something inside the device.
