The arrow isn't good. It does not support its own weight and does not hold the microphone in the desired position. The quality of the mic was what you would expect from an entire $60 kit (below average). I pulled it as tight as I could and even tried tape and wire. It just didn't work. And the microphone cannot work independently of the boom.

The higher the price, the lower the quality. I bought one after seeing the review and it looked great and the price was only $5 more than what the reviewer bought it for but what I got was different. This is my first XLR Mic and I'm impressed so far. I've been using it for about a week and have been recording voice overs and video with it. The quality you get from XLR is about three notches better than the best USB I've tried. Combined with a decent mixer this is a whole new level of sound. The sound is clear and crisp.
