I've had a lot of experience with category 5e and 6 cables with RJ45 connectors, but my goodness, this connector gave me a lot of headaches. The biggest problem with these connectors is that the holes are staggered and not in a straight line. Because of this, the copper pairs are not properly pressed or twisted into the connector. I do NOT recommend this.

After three days of running over 300 feet of 24 AWG ethernet cable from the old historic church to the new building, I thought the ethernet cable was defective. No, those were the damn connections. All THREE connection attempts failed by sending a signal to pins 3 and 6 at the same time. So I switched to the old school non-pass-through connectors I had 15 years ago and they work great. I'm an IT guy so I know what I'm doing. Terrible product and waste of time!

Straightening and inserting individual wires is not easy, but with through holes I can strip them for a very long time, pushing holes until they go no further. They are then crimped securely onto the unstripped portion of the cable and crimped securely onto the conductors. Then I cut off the excess wires with small, sharp wire cutters.

I ordered these pass-through connectors to install my high definition video surveillance system using Cat 5e solid copper cable. No mistakes, and I love how the wires come out in two rows, solid at the top and striped at the bottom. I crimped with a Kline crimping tool and it worked great. They also work with stranded wire. and they have Cat 6 connectors. I love the quality of this company. Thank you CableCreation.

If you haven't used these pass-through connectors, you're missing out. A little tip when using these pass-through connectors: make sure you have a crimping tool for this, otherwise the wire will stay far from the end and the clip won't snap into its terminal. One way to work around this problem is to push the wire through, then clip the ends of the wire and pull back a little while watching the wire, then crimp flush once.

A lot of people don't like them because they displace every other wire in the connector. This is sometimes a bit cumbersome, since you have to align the plugs very well before plugging them in. I've found that pushing them slightly to the side of the clamp when inserting them helps a little. It still needs a bit of practice and a certain "touch" to work with it.
