Good wire connectors

I like to use heat shrink connectors because they make rewiring projects look cleaner and more professional. Just don't use too much heat as they melt quite easily. I used a small butane torch but found that it gets too hot, it will melt from a simple cigarette lighter.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • New competitors appeared

Lots of choice, nice set.

If you own a boat, you know you need repairs. I ended up doing a cost benefit analysis to buy in bulk instead of running to West Marine and overpaying. This is a good sentence. Some fragments are densely packed and difficult to see. However, it's nice to walk down to the marina knowing you have most of the electrical hookups you need.

Non-Automotive

These are low-cost, low-quality connectors (non-automotive). I would only recommend these terminals for indoor low current applications, they cannot be submerged in water or high temperature areas. I would estimate the high current at a maximum of 10 amperes DC. If you like changing terminal connections all the time, these are perfect for you.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

Does not seal crimp.

These are made from very thin metal such as chrome plated brass, they are definitely not tin plated copper like most quality connectors. Also, they don't make a tight connection because the shrink tubing doesn't cover the stripped end of the wire. You can also use a non-hermetic connector. As usual "you get what you pay for" but I wouldn't pay for that.

Pros
  • Some competitors
Cons
  • small items

Good but arrived in a mess

Seems to be the usual thinner clamps of this type; what you expect for the price. What I didn't expect was that the whole body would be completely mixed up. The case was taped and sealed and the top of the case was very swollen; does it really look like they're all going to throw in the box premixed? I'd rather pay $1 or $2 so I don't waste time sorting them out.

  • New

  • Vulgarity

Worth every penny.: Joint

This is a nice selection of connectors. The heat shrink tubing has an adhesive backing that seals your joints well. It has most of the common sizes you need for wires from 12 ga to 20-22 ga. There are 10-15 connectors of every size, spade connectors (male and female), butt connectors, ring connectors and open ended flat clips. This set DOES NOT include connectors large enough for 10ga or larger cables (e.g. battery cables and the like). Overall it's good value for money.

Pros
  • Easy to read panel
Cons
  • Disappearing

Smashed those cheap terminals.

You get what you pay for. These are none other than Ancor brand naval terminals. I thought they couldn't be that bad but they are. The lugs are flimsy and bend easily, heat shrinkage is questionable at best. Also, the most important thing is that the area where the wire is crimped is very small and the wire is almost not held on to anything. I wouldn't attribute anything to that. I used a couple of clamps on my engine wiring harness but I will remove them and replace them with matching Ancor…

Pros
  • Scope of delivery: 300 pcs. shrink connectors, 6 months guarantee and 24/7 customer service.
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

I can't say I like this brand.

I will add later Ok. I used a few of these this weekend. This is my first time using shrink grommets. They have an open gap on the ring. Not sure if this is normal, just free space and not part of the overview. I do not care. yellow size. Well, everything in this set hits or misses when squeezing. I used the double crimp common to this style of connector and it fell off a couple of times. I went back to a regular single crimp tool and had to crimp it twice, saving 80% of it. The worst was…

Pros
  • Durability: Each terminal in our wire connector kit has a sturdy copper body that holds the wire securely when crimped. Translucent heat shrink tubing offers high tensile strength as well as resistance to stretching and mechanical damage.

Basic kit, dial indicator recommendation

Purchased to upgrade and waterproof a 40 year old boat console. A few observations from the first half dozen connections.* As others have pointed out, I don't think they're true. Use 18 gauge 16 AWG red wire; The 14-16 plug cannot be crimped tight enough to hold it. * The connection is a mechanical crimp - not low temperature solder glue like you may see in other connector kits. * The shrink sleeve is strong enough that it is not easily cut. B. with a crimping tool, is compressed evenly and…

Pros
  • . Electrical connections with shrink tubing. Finish your job or project with matching spades, hooks, plugs, quick connectors and rings for automotive, marine, stereo and many other electrical oriented projects. Compatible with AC and DC.
Cons
  • No performance
