They were perfect for my son's birthday cake maker. Even better, he could play with them while he ate his cake! They are surprisingly stronger than I thought. My son went insane using the excavator and endured its abuse. The only reason for 4 stars is that most of the signs that come with this set don't really make sense to build. If they could replace some of the signs and relate them to the build this would be the perfect set!

Bought these primarily to decorate my son's cake. The vehicles are the perfect size and I love how you can move the pieces around to arrange them the way you want on the cake. And of course my son will be able to play with them afterwards. My only criticism is that the stickers on the signs look like they are in a hurry to put them up. Cars are small, the size of a matchbox, which is to be expected. I only took the excavator for my son to play with, but I think other machines should be of the same quality. Build quality is better than most in this price range. Metal body/frame with hard plastic moving parts. Seems sturdy enough for toddlers to play with. My 2.5 year old loves them! As a parent, however, I will be more critical: the accessories are tiny. as impractically tiny for a normal household with a child aged at least 2.5 years.
