💪 Coolerguys Molex Dual Power Connecter: Enhance Performance with Double the Power Supply Review

I bought 2 of these USB/Molex adapters to power the Cooler Master case fan. I've tried several combinations of cables, both Molex and USB, but couldn't get power through the connector. I'm not sure if the connectors were bad, but I do know that the cables and case fan I used were fine. All in all I am disappointed with this product.

I ordered four and one was not assembled correctly. Those of you who know your Molex pinout will know that ground and plus have been swapped. I had to disassemble the connector and reassemble it properly. These connectors helped me complete my Raspberry Pi 3 cluster project, but they're losing a star due to the inconvenience of poor build quality.

They gave a constant voltage reading of 5V with no load from my PSU, but at 0.5-1A load the voltage dropped below 4.5 which is not enough to do many things with electricity to supply. The voltage at the source remained constant at 5 volts. These connectors appear to have very high resistance, which is exceptionally bad at lower voltages. Maybe the voltage drop is okay for things like 5V fans, but not good for trying to charge devices.
