Beware of other Cat6 cables! Works great for PoE devices.

I just upgraded my home network with Ubiquiti network devices. After checking the recommendations on their website, they offer a 600MHz certified Cat6 cable. Most of the cables originally offered were copper-clad aluminum, clocked at 550MHz. Although it might have worked, I decided to buy a cable that Ubiquiti would recommend and it works great. PoE devices are activated with no loss of switch performance.

Pros
  • 100% solid bare copper conductors. For high performance and flexibility.
Cons
  • Very expensive

Good quality cable at a reasonable price

Maybe I'm just an old fart, but the price of Cat 6/Cat 6e seems crazy when you look at big names like Belden and Panduit. I had never heard of Digilink Global before but for the price I decided to take a chance. So far I've been pleasantly surprised. It's solid copper as promised. It comes in a VERY sturdy box that can take some abuse when pulling the cable through. It unwinds VERY easily from the box, which is important if you're going to be pulling the cord yourself without the help of…

Pros
  • Riser grade (CMR) cable has a flame retardant jacket for wall installation.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Good Category 6e Cable

The quality matches the price. We connected our home network with this Cat6e cable. I wanted to get a cat6e cable for our site after installing/using their cat6 and cat6e in other setup projects but didn't need the full length this time. Our situation called for a shorter cable length and this Category 6e cable was a perfect fit in terms of both performance and length. The box that the cable is in is adjusted to the size of the reel (250ft) and pulling it out of the box didn't cause any damage,

Pros
  • Fluke has been tested to meet or exceed ANSI TIA/EIA 568.C.2 standards. ETL verified and ROHS compliant.
Cons
  • Crumpled
